Nepenthes 'Sam' is a carnivorous plant native to Southeast Asia and belongs to the Nepenthaceae family. This plant can grow to approximately 30-40 centimeters in height and has a long, slender stem with horseshoe-shaped leaves that transform into insect traps. The traps consist of a lower, cup-shaped part containing an acidic liquid and an upper, lid-shaped part that functions as a door to prevent the prey from escaping. The prey is attracted inside the trap by the sweet scent and intense coloration of the leaves.
Nepenthes 'Sam' is an ornamental plant, popular for its exotic appearance and unique way of feeding.
It is a plant that prefers indirect or partial light and a warm, humid environment. It is important to water the plants regularly and maintain high humidity around the leaves to stimulate the growth and development of the traps. This carnivorous plant can be fed small insects that are attracted by the scent of the traps. Nepenthes 'Sam' requires careful care and attention to its growing environment, but it is a fascinating and spectacular plant that can add an exotic and unique touch to your home.
