The exact parental formula is Cymbidium goeringii (a species native to Japan, China, and Korea, known for its vigor and subtle fragrance) × Cymbidium Lovely Bunny (an earlier hybrid by the same breeder, registered in 1991, resulting from Cymbidium Sleeping Beauty × Cymbidium Yamba), resulting in a very compact plant, ideal for pots 10-12 cm in diameter, with a total height (including inflorescences) under 30-40 cm, forming dense and decorative clumps.

Vegetatively, it has narrow, stiff, and slightly curved green leaves, 15-25 cm long, with a sturdy texture that tolerates environmental variations well. As a miniature hybrid, it is remarkably prolific: it produces up to 4-7 upright or slightly curved flower stalks on a mature plant in a small pot, each bearing 3-10 waxy flowers, extremely long-lasting (4-6 weeks on the plant). The flowers have a diameter of 3-4 cm and a dominant bright yellow-orange color, with intense yellow outer segments and a labellum marked with contrasting red-purple spots; a sweet and subtle fragrance, with light floral notes inherited from C. goeringii, is more noticeable in the morning.

This creation exemplifies Mukoyama’s expertise in "mini" oriental hybrids, combined for compact aesthetics, reliable annual blooming, and increased resilience, without requiring special conditions. It is adaptable to apartment cultivation: moderate temperatures (15-25°C by day, with night drops to 10-15°C in winter to induce spikes), strong indirect light (partial sun), regular watering allowing the soil surface to dry between waterings, well-drained substrate based on fine bark, and moderate humidity. It tolerates environments with natural ventilation well, is resistant to common pests such as aphids or mites, and reliably blooms year after year, making it accessible for both amateurs and collectors.

Read more about heat-tolerant indoor Cymbidium on the blog.

Height with pot included approx. 35-45 cm

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0558/5551/3798/files/8912D5D9-BAE0-467D-825C-BE72B03B3B96.jpg?v=1766177523
